About N/a’an ku sê Ecotourism Collection

• Conservation-first • People-powered • Ethical hospitality

At the heart of Namibia’s wild beauty lies a deeper story – one of vision, values, and a love for the land. The N/a’an ku sê Ecotourism Collection is more than a group of lodges. It’s a movement grounded in conservation, compassion, and connection. Founded on the belief that luxury travel can – and should – be a force for good, our properties offer guests the opportunity to travel with purpose, where every stay directly supports the protection of wildlife and the upliftment of rural communities.

Ecotourism

At N/a’an ku sê, eco-tourism is more than travel – it’s a direct contribution to conservation and community upliftment. Every stay at our lodges, retreats, and camps helps fund critical projects across Namibia, from wildlife rescue and habitat protection to education and healthcare for underserved communities. Guests don’t just witness the beauty of Namibia – they become part of its preservation. Whether tracking carnivores on foot, learning from San elders, or sharing a quiet moment under desert skies, every experience is designed to inspire connection – to nature, to culture, and to purpose.

Our Story

Founded in 2007 by Dr Rudie and Marlice van Vuuren, the N/a’an ku sê Ecotourism Collection began with a dream: providing a safe haven for Namibia’s orphaned and injured wildlife. What started as a wildlife sanctuary near Windhoek has grown into a network of conservation tourism experiences across Namibia – from the vineyards of Neuras to the dunes of Kanaan and the rewilded savannahs of TimBila.

Wildlife Conservation

Wildlife conservation at N/a’an ku sê is rooted in respect, science, and a deep commitment to coexistence. From rescuing and rehabilitating injured animals to researching predator behaviour and reducing human–wildlife conflict, our work protects some of Namibia’s most threatened species. Each effort – whether in the field, the sanctuary, or the classroom – contributes to a greater goal: ensuring that future generations inherit a world where wildlife still roams free.

Community & Culture

At N/a’an ku sê, we believe that conservation is only complete when it uplifts people as well as wildlife. Through education, healthcare, and employment, we support some of Namibia’s most marginalised communities – particularly the San people, Namibia’s first inhabitants. By preserving cultural knowledge and creating pathways to opportunity, we honour ancient traditions while building a more inclusive, empowered future for all.
